I Am PoshGurl
Hard worker is an understatement for the PoshGurl Brand owner Latasha Parker-Johnson. The start of her destiny later on in life allowed her the time to be shaped and groomed for the world of successful business owning.
As a single parent of two young girls, Mrs. Johnson was no amateur when it came to maturing the art of crafting and domestication. Having to do-it-all was not an option but a lifestyle. Making desserts from scratch, crafting decorations by hand, hosting events, and party planning was just the norm for this single parent of two and ultimately a great start for her soon to be new career
While hosting her child's birthday celebration, guest could not stop asking who had done her décor, to their surprise she answered “me” and from that moment she gained five new clients with huge visions for their upcoming events.
Overwhelmingly excited, Mrs. Johnson laughed for a moment at the idea of making this into a career but soon after laughed no longer. While trying to find the name for her new business venture, Latasha was sure of one thing, mediocrity was not an option! She wanted to bring opulence and class with a dash of fun to the average event with her posh ideas; she thought why not be that “Posh-Girl”? And this was the start of the PoshGurl NYC Event Planning company.
With countless compliments during events regarding her dessert tables, everyone simply wanted to know “who was the vendor?” ironically enough, Latasha said again “me”. This was the turning point for Mrs. Johnson gaining a chance to add to her resume. Soon after she received a call that most planners dread but she yearned for, the opportunity to have full creative control of décor and this time adding her new found talent desserts.
Her uniqueness and willingness to step out of the box was the birth of her dessert line Poshitively Desserts Signature Collection. This new added business was the home for her ingenious infused martini cupcakes and Designer bag cupcakes. Which landed the opportunity to make her signature desserts for singer song writer Tamar Braxton and eventually making desserts for world renown Bravo Television producer and chef, Chef Elle Scott.
Her success did not stop there, featuring in magazines such as Billionaire Mag and vending at Circle of Sisters it was no surprise when this audacious women gained a client list of over 200 customers while making over 2,000 different dessert designs.
Teaching her children the value of a dollar was a trademark in her life but who would have known this simple lesson would teacher her something. “Learning the value of Me” by not limiting herself to just some of her talents, she gained the courage to begin branding her gifts. The birth of House of Posh Cosmetics and Simply Posh Home was just a commence in the world of entrepreneurship. Wanting to go a step further by giving back and making strides for a cause Latasha started the Poshitively Pink movement for individuals suffering with breast cancer.
These days Latasha continues to build her brand as she promote and support women in business.
Latasha is the epitome of I am every woman and a true success story in her own right. Wanting everyone to have the Posh experience she leaves you with this “Life may not be Simple but why not make it Posh”.

I AM Author Untamed
Writing has been a part of my life since I was thirteen years old. Beginning with writing poetry and short stories. After suffering the loss of my oldest daughter, I decided to pursue my dreams of becoming a published author.
Now, I am a four-time published author of the Never Again...No More series and a poetry book, This Side of Heaven; A Poetic Journey of Strength and Survival which is dedicated to the loving memory of my daughter, mother and cousin who all passed from a tragic drunk driving crash.
I didn't allow tragedy to defeat me and stop me from living my dreams.
In fact, I used it to push me into my destiny. My second novel, Never Again...No More 2, Getting Back to Me made the Amazon Bestseller's list and my poetry book peaked at #4 on the Amazon Bestseller's and was the #1 Amazon Hot New Release. It continues to remain on the Amazon Bestseller's list.
My journey has also inspired my children. My son is pursing his musical and sport talents with the drums and football and my daughter is also pursing singing and we are working together on her first novel. Having my writing inspire not only my family but other writers and readers is truly what I hoped to do. Hearing people say, that I inspire them, encourage them or taught them how to heal and love truly warms my spirit and let's me know I am on the path of doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. It's my hope that through my writing it will continue to touch lives, encourage growth and give a voice to the voiceless. ~ Untamed

Jamila E. Gomez was born on January 15th, 1982 in Chicago, Ill. and raised in Lithonia, Georgia, where she still resides. She graduated in 2000 from Redan High School. Jamila wrote her first poem at age 17 as a means of dealing with the death of her grandmother. Two years after graduation, she attended Georgia Perimeter College, where she majored in English. It was there that she took courses geared towards creative writing and eventually developed an interest in writing poetry. She had three poems published in the school’s literary magazine.
Following her schooling, Jamila maintained her passion for poetry and continued to write, hoping for the opportunity to one day become a published poet. Along the way, she managed to become a freelance editor, editing “Secret Covers” for Timothy Hill and “Seven Days, Seven Nights: More Skeletons Revealed” for L’Mignon.
In the summer of 2011, Jamila managed to self-publish a collection of her own poetry in a book entitled, “Pure Confessions”. The book contains 25 poems she had written in a 3-year timeframe. She has also written a novella, entitled “Birthday Girl”. The novella was published under One Karma Publishing. Currently, she works as a freelance copy editor and proofreader.
Besides being a sister and a daughter, Jamila is also an aunt to a niece and nephew. She is an advocate for people with disabilities, as well as those who suffer from mental and emotional health issues. Having been born with Spina bifida, Jamila’s struggles to overcome the challenges she has face turned into a passion for helping those with similar struggles. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, board games, and listening to music.

My name is Angela
Johnson and I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama – A true southern
bell. I moved to Georgia 11 years ago for better opportunities and I since then
I had a beautiful baby girl. For years my daughter suffered from febrile
seizures, and each time her temperature was slightly elevated, she would have a
seizure. She also has a
host of food allergies and chronic sinusitis. This all started 2 days after she
turned a year old. Though we have had some tough times, through it all I have
become a much stronger women and a very successful single mother.
I work virtually full time, which allows me to care of my daughter. I prayed on it and God delivered in a big way. Yes, God does answer prayers. Through the blessing of a virtual position, I am able to prepare special lunches for my daughter due to her food allergies and also take to her every day. Another wonderful blessing that comes along with working virtually is, it allows work life balance, especially with limited family and assistance.
You might ask, how do I stay humble and grounded when times get rough and tough well, it’s simple. When I feel like giving up, like most successful people sometimes do, I focus on the positive. I change my attitude and find a quiet place and just meditate for about 5 minutes.
I work smarter, not harder.
I am also and Entrepreneur and I have something special in the works. With over 10 years of being successful in the Staffing arena, which is my passion, I’ve decided to make it my business to help others become successful at finding the best job to fit their lifestyles; whether it’s a regular 9-5 or a legitimate work-from-home job, you can count on me to get the job done.
Big things are coming soon from this Southern Bell!
Remember being successful is not about being rich, but being able to be a success at whatever it is that you choose to do or how you've learn to conquer life’s challenges. If I can be a success story, anyone can!
I am Angela Johnson, a successful single mother who loves myself and daughter unconditionally!
Thank you for allowing me to share my 50ShadesOfSuccess Story!

Valarie Taveras is a North Carolina transplant who has made Brooklyn her home for the last 15 years. While her career path has been in Human Service Management, Ms. Taveras' true passion is entertainment. She is the Founder of TheLIQNY.com, a mobile cocktail catering company and The LIQtees.com, an online expressive t-shirt company. While continuing her professional daytime career, Ms. Taveras manages one of three family wine and spirits venues, Klevor Wine & Spirits, located in downtown Ft. Greene in the evenings.
After becoming the "house mixologist" for all of her family and friends, she decided to turn her passion for entertainment through mixing into a business. This was the birth of The LIQ NY. The LIQ NY: Drinks by Design cocktail catering service harnesses "all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic". This unique service takes the guess work out of beverage provision in a unique way. It even provides a Bartender in the Bottle (a ready to drink, custom concoction), if a "live" bartender is not in the budget. Detail-oriented, professional presentation and custom tailoring is what you can expect from this high-end service.
In an effort to give back to the community at large, Valarie is developing The LIQ New York Foundation to enhance the lives of urban youth, particularly young women. She believes if young women are given options, they can increase their personal potential. Look for the emergence of The Foundation before the close of 2015.
Having mixed drinks for those on the runway of Full Figured Fashion Week, celebrities like Lance Gross, Chasity Saunders, Chef Elle Simone and Liris Cross, at various fundraising events, Ms. Taveras does not mind telling her potential clients to "leave the drinks to us".
Valarie Taveras is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the New York Junior League. Ms. Taveras has been married for 25 years and has two adult sons.

Tammie T. Bell-Davis has always been inspired by creativity and imagination. At the age of 16 she began writing poetry to deal with a heartbreaking loss. Poetry became her comfort in a growing world of uncertainty; it was through poetry that became her way to express her feelings. Her poem YOU was featured in Cream Magazine and published in a 1997 Poetry Guild Anthology.
As time passed Tammie found another passion, a passion to create unique gifts. Tammie's first personalized gift was a framed personalized poem. From there the Poetic Designs seed was planted and grew, Poetry Gift Baskets, Pillows, Centerpieces, Gift Favors, Invitations, Delicious Baked goods and more. You can find her work on her website Poetic Designs.
In 2009 Tammie took her love of poetry to another level and started her own social networking site: poeticdesigns.ning.com which ran thru 2013 and now closed. The site was created for the likes of all creative minds to come together to Showcase, Network & Shine. A ‘home’ to creative artists of all arts as Poetry, Music, Dancing, Designing, Art, Hairdressing, any and all things creative. Welcome to the wonderful world of Cindi Martinez, where you will find a mother, a teacher, a business entrepreneur, and a good friend. I am the mother of a 21 year old college student who battles Epilepsy and of an 18 year old high school honor society senior on her way to college. They are my world and my life. I live to see them flourish. They are my number one concern in life, everything else is secondary.
I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Walden University in Minnesota and a B.A. plus 30 in Special Education from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. I attended Moorestown Friends School on a full tuition scholarship given to Camden City students.
Having taught in the city of Camden, NJ for 20 years, I have been entrusted with over 260 young minds to mold. In the process, I have come across thousands of people that have impacted my life in one way or another. Each day is a challenge in the city of Camden. Each day, I worry about each of my students and what they face. Each day, I ride into the city hoping to make a difference not on one child, but all of the kids in my school.
Although I am seeking a position in administration, I am currently teaching 6-8th grade middle school special needs students. I am the only teacher in the state of NJ chosen to participate in the Classroom Champions Program for three years straight, a program that pairs Olympic athletes with classrooms around the country to instill in the students a new sense of pride and Olympic characteristics. There are 35 classrooms participating in the program in the entire United States.
In addition to teaching full time, I was asked to join Untouchables Entertainment Group in August of 2012 as President of the ladies division of the company, UEG Ladies. UEG Ladies officially launched September 29, 2012.
As president of UEG Ladies, it is my vision to provide women with a voice, a vision, and a place to network. Our mission is to provide exceptional service, growth, success and prosperity to everyone involved and to industry partners alike. UEG Ladies believes in the creation of opportunities for UEG and all of its business partners by generating win-win situations. We envision that the best way to implement our mission is through continued successful development and attainment of these opportunities.
I also work as the promotional drive behind UEG Radio: Home of the Unsigned Artist, an internet radio show on www.nitelineradio.com that features unsigned/independent artists that are looking for free exposure and continuous support on a regular basis.
We promote the artists on the show and via 8social media sources which include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite, Path, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Linked-In. It is our hope to provide a platform for unsigned artists to catapult to the next level based on UEG Radio’s support.
Currently, UEG Ladies continues its mission by consistently promoting small, independent businesses owned or managed by women. I am seeking for new venues to continue our successful UEG Ladies Networking events.

My name is Celeste and I am a Mother, CEO and Author. Born and raised in upstate
N.Y. (315 stand up). After losing my mother and brother, months apart, and suffering from depression, I needed to be made over and I made a plan to do just that.
I graduated College in 2011, majoring in Criminal Law, packed up and took the biggest leap of faith in my life by relocated to Florida. I was blessed to be able to utilize my degree and land a job managing a Criminal Law Firm. More importantly, I was able to clear my mind and focus on pursuing my personal dreams and goals. I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities that have allowed me to dabble in public speaking hosting and a new project I am working on has lead me into producing, directing and maybe even a little acting!
I am fearless and LOVE to challenge myself. I am confident in knowing that ALL things are possible with faith and determination, and a good pair of heels!!
I own and operate High Maintenance, my brand, which is a small online boutique. There you will find custom chain creations, body jewelry, signature tank tops and paperback copies of my first release Three of a Kind.
I am also a self-published Author; my desire for writing began when I was a little girl looking for an escape. I was amazed with the writers’ ability to take me away from my harsh reality and allow me, if only temporarily, to be someone or go somewhere else, with simple black letters on a white page. For me, reading saved my live and inspired a desire within to someday create in that same way.
About 11 years ago I attempted to write my first book, many notebooks, pens, laptops and tablets later I was able to manifest my dreams into reality, and my next book will be released early Summer 2015!
I NEVER gave up on my dream, IGNORED the non-supporters and stayed FOCUSED, never forgetting who and what I knew I could be!
High Maintenance’s motto to Never Settle for Less, celebrates Woman who are fearless and diligent.
I am Author Celeste Celeste and I stand in my strength, intelligence and beauty
and this is MY 50ShadesOfSuccess Story.

I am Author Vulyncia Poindexter
I’m not going to sit here and say that I had always wanted to become a published author all my life. I‘ve been writing since I was 12 years old, and at the time, if you’d asked me if the majority of what I had written had made much sense, I would’ve replied, “no, not really”, but at that time I was a child who could only see through a child’s eye.
As the years progressed, I began taking little bits and pieces of what I was told and what I had also seen and began transcribing them into words and through the power of words, I was able to capture exactly how people were feeling. It didn’t matter to me whether the subject was on love, life, betrayal, or misguided hate. I just loved that my work made people’s faces light up when they would read it. Continuing to move forward, I entered poetry contests and some of my poetry was published in poetry anthologies.
Throughout my accomplishments and becoming a published author/poet, the reality of it all still hadn’t seriously sunk in, because to me, I was only doing what felt natural and in my heart I knew my journey hadn’t begun. It was not until the end of 2011, early 2012, that I had begun to think and feel differently and wanted to seriously move forward with my writing, how “ironic” it was around the time that my mother had become sick; after being on dialysis for almost 10yrs.
I can recall my mother being able to spend Christmas, 2011 with the family and I can also remember having a slight disagreement with her and chalking it up as she was simply having a bad day, because she wasn’t feeling well. Later that same week my mom was back in the hospital, but this time it was more serious, they told us her organs were failing and fluids could no longer be drained from her body by dialysis. That night we were told that she had a slim chance of making it through the week,
Finally I had a personal breakthrough regarding taking my writing seriously and on January 1, 2012, I sent an email to One Karma Publishing inquiring about being published with them. Due to all that was going on with my mother, I hadn’t been checking my email, but when I did check my email, I had received a reply back from One Karma Publishing asking me to submit a sample of my writing for review. Once again, I suddenly found myself in limbo. It was such a bittersweet moment, because I was at the hospital with my mother who was in a coma and at that point in time, I didn’t care about submitting a sample of my work, all I cared about was my mother.
On January 8, 2012, they told us to say our final goodbyes, because she wouldn’t make it through the night. I for one brushed it off, because they’d spoken them same words on the January 5th. That’s when I decided to talk to my mother and I told her that I was going to get my book published and that she could add my book to the hundreds of books that she had already owned. I told her that she could take my book with her to dialysis and brag to her friends that her baby had done something special. I climbed into her hospital bed and as I laid by her side, like I’d done so many times before; something hit me, but this time was different. I had realize that my mother had never read any of the pieces that I had written. After talking to her, I finally made my peace and let her know that I understood that she was tired and it was okay – I told her that she had done good by her daughters and that she could go ahead and let go. That was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life. After the doctors announced that she was gone, I fell deep within my thoughts. On the ride home, I had, had the biggest revelation and it hit me hard. On the night of January 8, 2012, when I got home. I sat at my computer and I sent out an email to One Karma Publishing and attached to that email was my manuscript for Timeless Clock.
My mother left this earth at the tender age of 45 years old without knowing my passion, and outside of her reading, I didn’t even know hers. From that moment on, I no longer wanted just to get by in life; I wanted more. I didn’t care about becoming famous or even selling one book, all I cared about is how I could touch people through the power of words. I wanted to touch people in a way that if they couldn’t remember my name, they would definitely remember my words and how they made them feel while reading them. So, if only one person would have picked up my book, read it and was impacted wholeheartedly, then that alone would have let me know that I’d done my job.
On January 13, 2012, I received the acceptance letter for my manuscript and the very next day on January 14, 2012, we laid our mother to rest. I had wrote her a poem and for the first time in front of her, my entire family and friends, I recited it out loud.
Now, as I look back on the events that took place, it’s amazing how in one week from Sunday to Sunday, I went from being on the verge of submitting my manuscript to the publishing company, to wanting to give it all up in exchange for me giving my mother reasons to hold on and live. I was in a ball of confusion and my emotions were far beyond on high. My thoughts were, if I had submitted my manuscript, she wouldn’t be around to see it. My mother gave me a reason to live and it let me see that blessing in her death. No longer did I want to just get by in life, I now wanted to life to the fullest. Now I understand why my mother never missed the opportunity to live her life and why she never let anything slow her down, when she was able to prevent it.
So now, can I say that I would have never submitted my manuscript and sought after my passion without that major life changing event happening, no, but I will say this, sometimes life isn’t appreciated until death and contrary to what some may believe and have said. Out of that tragedy came a breath that would birth life into my journey. First came Timeless Clock and then Timeless Ink. Look out, because there is so much more to come from the Timeless Brand.
In the end, death made a positive impact in my life and because of it, I choose to live it and not exist in it. I am Author Vulyncia Poindexter and this is my 50ShadesOfSuccess story.

A native New Yorker, Moni has been a lover of makeup from as far back as she can remember. From playing with her Mother's lipstick and nail polish to now serving as the CEO of her own cosmetics company, she has come a long way! "I've always known I wanted to do something in the beauty/fashion world. It's always what I've been drawn to do and even when I dipped into other things including my own jewelry line, I never strayed far from my first love." Moni B. Cosmetics is about more than just makeup, it's about making women feel good from the inside out. I believe no amount of makeup will make you beautiful if on the inside you lack confidence and genuinely don't feel good about yourself."
Starting as a freelance makeup artist in The Bronx, NY in the early 2000's, Moni soon relocated to Henderson, NC and later Greenville, NC. There was great opportunity to freelance as a makeup artist in New York but in North Carolina, things were much different. "Other than doing makeup here and there for brides, family, and friends, I no longer considered myself a makeup artist. It was more something I liked to do." After suddenly losing her beloved father in 2005 and becoming a first time Mom a few months after, Moni put down her brushes and lost the passion she once had.
It took some time to recover from the loss but, beauty never was far from her heart. Slowly but surely Moni began to find the creative passion she once had and flourished as a freelance makeup artist, and also designed jewelry selling both retail and wholesale to customers as far away as Canada. "It was awesome doing something I loved again...I was a Mom, jewelry designer, did makeup when I was available, bought my own home, life was just great.."
Then another blow hit when in May 2013 Moni suddenly lost her Mom. "I couldn't believe this was happening again, my parents weren't sick and their deaths rocked me to my core. It was all surreal...I still can't believe both of my parents are gone. We were a very close knit family and I felt all I had was myself and my son. It was a rough time and I'm still dealing with the loss." But, instead of retreating into a world of loneliness and depression Moni funneled her pain into what she loved. After teaching a series of makeup classes, speaking to teen girls on etiquette, and working as a freelance makeup artist...Moni finally decided to realize a decade long dream of owning her own cosmetics line. "I wanted to make my parents proud but more than that their sudden deaths taught me that life is not promised to anyone and I vowed to live each day as if it were my last."
With a launch date of October 2015, Moni B. Cosmetics is geared towards the every day woman that can sometimes be intimidated by makeup. The line will start with lipstick and lipgloss and will expand in 2016 with an eyebrow kit, foundation, and eyeshadow. "I'm focused and ready to begin this new chapter and I'm excited about where this road will lead."
