I am LaDonna Marie a Author, Writer, Speaker, Poet and Founder of Planting Positive Seeds. Born in Mississippi and now lives in Georgia. Whose lifelong dream was to become an author.
I started writing in my preteens, to help express and explore my perceptions in the world surrounding me. While in high school, I met Nikki Giovanni and Maya Angelo whose presence changed my life and added more passion to my writing poetry. As a writer my greatest love is to encourage and empower others to never give up and to keep moving forward.
My first poem was published in Anthology: Whispers with The League of American Poets in 2007. I self-published my first book Expressions of the Mind, Body & Soul. I received a Certificate of Congratulation from Congressman Bennie Thompson 2nd district of MS. I was inducted Who's Who in Black Mississippi in 2012. In 2013 released her 2nd book Until Tomorrow Comes that landed on Bestseller’s list #2 & #3 for poetry and positive growth. I was a contributing poet in Sibyl Poetry Magazine for 2014, and also Anthology: The Gospel According to Poetry. Until Tomorrow Comes was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2014 Paris Book Festival and 2014 DJ Gatsby Book Club Literary Award in Poetry. Lessons: Shattered Pieces Being Resorted landed on the Bestseller’s list shortly upon its release in 2014.
I am finalist for the Diva Author/writer International Award 2015. I also am a co-author of Tainted Elegance: Simply Beautiful book. As a single parent, I take my sons along with me, to encourage them that they can do and be anything that would like to be.
My goal is to inspire teachable moments, through sharing my experience as an author and speaker, by giving back to others and serving mankind through kindness. My mission in life is to promote positive growth and awareness.

I Am Carol Dunlop
As a busy wife, mom, grandmom and founder of Optimum Body Sculpting, Carol works with individuals who are tired of trying diet after diet with little to no results and shows them how to take control and lose 25 pounds in 6 weeks. As the host of Fit4Life Radio, which airs Tuesdays at 1:00pm EST, Carol uses her knowledge and experience to help others to live healthier, happier, fitter lives. She believes that you should always live your life to the fullest and fittest, no matter what.
I would have to say, first and foremost, that the architect of my success is not me but my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He put me here to perform a mission and that is to help women achieve their weight loss and fitness goals. It may seem simple, but achieving those goals is extremely complex for women because they involve so much more than simply eating right and exercising.
The second best thing I did to ensure my success was to marry my husband of over 20 years, Alvin. He has kept me focused on the prize each and every day, even when I didn’t want to or couldn’t face the disappointments that seem to come one after another.
Finally, the third best decision I made was to realize that I couldn’t do it alone. I brought in collaborators who were experts in areas that I was not. This step is also hard for women to swallow, the fact that we need help; people in our corner to be successful and to help us see the success that is waiting for us just beyond the horizon.

Let me introduce myself. My name is DiShan.
Christian | Mother | Writer | Entrepreneur | Daughter | Worshipper Ghostwriter | Aunt | Minister | Socialite | Screenwriter | Friend Playwright | Motivational Speaker | TV Personality | Sister Prophetic Life Coach | Investor | Fashionista | Suicide Survivor
DiShan Washington is a native of Valley, Alabama. Married at the age of 16, she became one of the youngest known First Ladies (Pastor’s wife) at the age of 17, and with this feat came incredible challenges that led to bouts of low self-esteem, depression, two suicide attempts, and a plethora of other struggles she openly shares. The landscape of her life changed and her marriage came to an end at the age of 30. This took DiShan from living a life of luxury to homelessness and even days of wondering where her next meal would come from. By far her greatest trial yet, her faith was tested on the greatest level. But, determined to persevere, she kept pressing and has risen from the ashes to become a successful businesswoman.
She is currently the National and Essence best-selling author of, “Diary of a Mad First Lady” (Urban Books-March 2010), “The Preacher’s Wifey” (Urban Books-February 2013), and “My Baby Is Not a Mistake." She s also the nationally recognized playwright for plays such as: “Everything That Look Good Ain’t Good For You”, “Is Love Supposed To Hurt?”, “I Can If I Want To” and her latest play based off of her book, "Diary of a Mad First Lady ." Her next book releases are scheduled to be released in 2015 with Applause Publishing (Diary of a Mad First Lady 2) and Brown Girls Publishing (Let's Get It On), and at the helm, literary giants, Victoria Christopher Murray and ReShonda Tate Billingsley.
In 2011, she created a new genre of fiction—Christian Erotica—that is setting the Christian world ablaze with its controversial, yet essential nature. In addition to creating short stories and a book in this genre, DiShan penned the screenplay, “Let’s Get It On.” The first film of its kind, it was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia (Xxtreem Filmz) and premiered May 2013. It has gotten the attention of prominent filmmakers, radio hosts, journalists, magazines, production companies, and Pastors across the nation. She was an invited guest of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss’ show, Kandi Koated Nights, to discuss this new groundbreaking genre. Additionally, DiShan has created a product line to accompany this brand that is slated to be released in 2015.
DiShan is also a powerful and prolific minister, teacher, life coach, and motivational speaker. Having spoken & shared on major platforms throughout the country, her willingness to be transparent about her struggles and success often leaves her audience wanting to hear more. She has been seen on TLC & Bravo and in countless National magazine articles. She is a regular guest of many radio talk shows. Her day to day job is serving as the ghostwriter to several noted individuals across the country.
In August of 2014, DiShan founded Hold On, Inc which is an organization committed to raising awareness and creating solutions for the prevention of suicide. With her own struggle with this very sensitive issue that's sweeping the world causing lives and destinies to be cut short, she plans to dedicate the rest of her life to serving this cause. (Follow on Twitter: @holdtolife & accept #TheHugChallenge.) www.holdontolife.org
She most recently accepted a position with Applause Publishing as the Senior Vice President of Operations. Visit them at: www.Applause.pub.
Having dealt with infertility for more than a decade her greatest honor and title is that of a mother. She is most proud to be the mommy to Miss Alahna Rose Washington & Miss Ariahna Rose Winters.

My life started October 20, 1966, to the outstanding mother of evangelist Frankie Thomas,
in my immediate household were three other siblings all brothers. I do have eight other
siblings on my father side.
My life was a dream, full of love, joy and peace. When I turned six years old my challenges in life took a sudden drastic change. My stepfather molested me from the young age of six to thirteen. I then became withdrawn, but yet aggressive. I didn't know how to handle the pressure of my mother husband penetrating me and forcing me to do unthinkable acts.
Silence was my key to living, after being threaten that he would kill me, and my mom would go to jail forever. I never would have thought that this would have been my road map to success.
I had learned to turn lemons into lemonade. I had to face myself in the mirror and force myself to believe that I am someone special, that I am beautiful and I have a purpose; my voice counts. that I am not a low life pathetic little girl who had sex with her mother’s husband night after night.
I learned that this world is full of curve balls, and the way to get a home run was to step back in the batter’s box, focus and never give up!
In 1992 I hit a home run! I had remained silent until 1992 when my mother passed away. This was a bitter sweet moment for me. Yes, I grieved for my mother death, but it was then that my new life began. I no longer had fears of my mother going to jail. I came out of my shell. I started writing for healing.
My first poem was title a step at a Time. This too shall pass, but a step at a time, this was my time to no longer let life's dramatic experience weigh me down, but to allow me to be a testimony to many others like me, letting them know that you don't have to live in bondage. You can stand up to your aggressor.
Not only did my past make my future brighter, but it also made me a stronger women, one who could now voice my opinion. It encouraged me to vote, apply for top paying jobs, and apply for promotions. I refused to be a statistic. I have always had great jobs even today I am a level 21 Branch Manager at the United States Postal Service.
My past has helped me with my family planning and the upbringing of my two daughters. My past taught me how to protect my daughters and let them know it is okay to speak out, it's okay to say no, it's okay to tell. Most of all my past has taught me how to love and love unconditionally. I understand that you have to choose your battles, and that's how I raised my daughters and many other children who call me mom.
My motto to young ladies is: 1. Ladies are to be seen first and not heard!
2. We are business women taking care of business and business always come before pleasure!
It really blesses my soul to know that so many have followed in my footsteps. It lets me know that my struggles were not in vein. I understand that I had to struggle so many others wouldn't.
In my life I have owned many success stories. I have my career job, with 18 years and counting. I own two homes, one is a rental property. I have had some of the best automobiles. I have gained so much wisdom and knowledge throughout the years.
I'm blessed to have two daughters who call me every day and not a week goes by that we don't spend quality time together. That is a success story within itself. My daughters say, they would rather spend time with me than their friends. I have lived to see both of my daughter purchase their homes at the age of 21. They now are 24, and 29 and neither have children.
My next success story will be seeing both of my daughters walk down the aisle on their
wedding day.
If I had to say one thing to encourage others to gain success it would be, success doesn’t always mean monetary things, success can be how you make yourself happy, how you lead others who are following in your footsteps. Success can be Peace, Love, Joy, and Happiness. Those are things you can own and no one can take it away, because it lives within you.
Learn to turn lemons into lemonade, and dance in the rain. It is then you have gained success!

I Am Saran Almond
My success story is one of perseverance, self-understanding, and growth. I’ve always known what I wanted to do with my life but the “how tos” and life in general didn’t make it easy. The growing pains of life have led me to be grounded in self-awareness which I believe is key to everyone’s success. It took a lot of time, a lot of tears, and a lot of prayer for me to get to a place where I not only know what I want but I know what I don’t want. The knowledge of these two things, the lessons that come with the triumphs and disappointments in life, and the ability to apply those lessons are what make me successful.
I am an entrepreneur, TV host, producer, documentary filmmaker, and a budding author. My success comes from being able to positively impact the lives of others. Through my show ‘WHAT WOULD she DO?’ the goal is to change hearts and minds one conversation at a time. My upcoming book entitled, “My Life as a Lemon” encourages people to embrace and pursue the possibilities of life. Through filmmaking I like to shed light on topics that people may not be aware of and give a voice to the unheard. I want people to know that they are not alone, and that we can all learn from each other.
As my platform broadens, success for me is being able to engage, encourage, and enlighten people worldwide. Every day that I wake up with the ability to create is a success. Every time someone says, “I didn’t know that” or has a change of perspective after seeing my show or a documentary that is a success. Every time my son tells me he’s proud of me that is a success. Knowing my purpose is success. I’m still on a fabulous journey; I haven’t reached my destination. I’m enjoying the ride, the highs and lows because I know the best is yet to come.

I Am Lynnis Woods-Mullins
I Am Jennifer Caldwell
Jennifer lives with her Husband John, dog Nicole and daughter Paris Nicole in Central Jersey where she was raised in a home where her mother baked homemade cookies and gingerbread houses for every holiday. Jennifer developed her passion the kitchen very early on when she would watch her Grandmother and Aunts finish off every Sunday dinner with desserts. By the time she turned 25 her passion turned into a min profession as she was cake decorating for her friends and family.
Self taught through determination and curiosity she became obsessed with learning new techniques of the trade and knew one day she wanted to open up her own bakery or restaurant. Because she couldn’t afford her dream school, “The French Culinary Institute” {now the International Culinary Institute} she spent countless hours self-teaching through the internet and magazines.
After learning all that she could unofficially herself and her husband finally saved up enough money to finally allow Jennifer to attend the French Culinary Institute. Once finished with the cake decorating course Jennifer hit the ground running doing cakes for various Radio personalities in the Philadelphia area. Because social media had spread like wild fire allowing
just about anyone to gain access to celebrity events to showcase their talents Jennifer learned early on that she not only had to be good at her craft, but she had to stand out from the
rest of the crowd.
Dressed in an old “Bakers” Halloween Outfit she became known all over gaining her the
eye catching attention she needed to stand out from all the others. What once was an “old Halloween” outfit that everyone used to laugh at became a signature look that gained her
access to do cakes for Grammy Nominated singers and songwriters, Celebrities, athletes and
to a huge opportunity on VH1’s highly rated Love and Hip hop NYC.
Her prayers, determination and hard work would pay off soon enough because in the summer of 2014 with the support of her family she started construction on “Café Amazing Confections. Café Amazing Confections is a cute café serving sweet treats and French-American Cuisine located in the heart of New Brunswick, NJ.

I Am Ro Simmons
Back in September 2013, I quit my full time job to pursue my passion of being a fitness instructor/business owner full time. I was excited and scared all in one. I am not a person to get stressed easily. That moment in my life was the most stressful. We had no savings. I didn't have the clientele that would make up what I was making. But in my belly, I had this knot. I had to do something. I was unhappy. The goals I had in life did not match up with what I was doing.
So I made a change.
My client base grew, services offered grew, and I was in a position to help others.
In Feb 2015, we were blessed to upgrade our Fitness studio to a facility that was bigger,
newly renovated, and more beautiful. I was blessed to pick out every thing from the
paint color to the type of flooring.
We now help 4 other business owners run their business out of our Fitness Studio.
My advice to someone who is struggling with a dream and reality. Go for your dreams. They will shape a new reality. I am a success. I hope you enjoy my story. -Ro Simmons

I Am Joan E. Gosier
Joan E. Gosier was born in Mount Vernon, New York in 1968, to older than average parents. Her mom was 42 and her dad 59 when she arrived in that tumultuous year only seven months after the horrific assassination of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In 1979, her family chose to relocate south down to Urbanna, Virginia during her rebellious teenaged years and then moved up to the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland in 1982 after the death of her father.
In 1990, Joan was recruited by a pharmaceutical giant and relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana after graduation from HBCU Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She began her career as a European Financial Analyst and spent a decade climbing the corporate ladder in the pharmaceutical industry. In 1996 she graduated from the University of Michigan's MBA program specializing in International Finance and Marketing. In between her studies, she interned with blue chip companies such as Xerox Document Services,SC Johnson Wax, and in South Africa with Deloitte and Touche Consulting.
Her first book, "Cotton Pickin' Paycheck-A 21st Century Journal of Escape from Slavery(1805-1988)" chronicles her 21 life lessons learned in leaving corporate life and building a family internet business (www.hbcukidz.com) from scratch. Although she is an experienced corporate manager and seasoned entrepreneur, she is most proudly a "mompreneur" of two academic and athletic public school scholars and an inquisitive toddler. They each enjoy learning and discovering the world around them. She and her husband Thomas reside in Virginia where Joan is the Director of Finance for the Friendship Baptist Church and the Title 1 Parent Involvement Specialist at the Carter G. Woodson Middle School.
When she was a young teenager she overcame tremendous life threatening odds and prayed to God for forgiveness, mercy and her own family. Her year to date achievements are due to the grace of God.

I Am Tazora
My husband Daryl was adopted and he lost his adoptive mother in 2004. He never had a relationship with his biological mother or siblings, although it was something that he greatly desired. After the death of his adoptive mother, he felt incredibly alone and unsupported.
Daryl felt rejected and he carried this rejection with him throughout the rest of his life.
Daryl feelings of rejection formed a dark part of him that I felt like I could never touch. He kept it locked away from me. I knew that he was hurt, but I didn’t know the magnitude of his hurt. His depression manifested itself in many different ways. At times he would be distant, sullen, and would participate in self-destructive behavior. I was heartbroken because my love wasn’t enough to soothe his mind or his heart. My husband died to suicide on July 22, 2012.
When my husband died, leaving me alone with our 3 children, I did not know where to turn. I was strong during the day and I fell apart at night. So many questions ran through my head. I blamed myself for his decision; I wondered how I missed the signs. In hindsight, I see that there are many signals pointing to the detrimental state of his mental health.
My name is Tazora Dotie-Moore and I am the founder of the Hear My Cry Foundation. I am a suicide survivor. I understand the emotional feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Losing my husband to suicide motivated me to build a foundation to help suicide survivors and people who struggle with mental illness.
If you are battling with the thoughts of ending your life, please know that all is not lost and that there is another way. If you have been touched by suicide in the way that I have, you’re not alone. There are people that know what you’re going through, and that will support you. Together we WILL save lives from suicide.
